Tour Summary

Cambodia/Vietnam Cycling - December 2014

Bangkok-Siem Reap-Phnom Penh-Ho Chi Minh City by Train, Boat, Bicycle, and Bus

I am gradually working my way round Asia, and have cycled in  7 countries  so far (China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong). So where next? I had been thinking for a while about Vietnam and Cambodia.

I signed up for a Mountain bike tour from Siem Reap through Cambodia, and through the Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City.

Train from Bangkok to Thai Border at Aranyaprathet (260kms); Tuk Tuk to Thai Border (3kms); Walk across border to Poipet, Cambodia (1Km); Shared Taxi to Siem Reap (151kms)
A cycling route for a future trip is a popular one from Bangkok along the South Thailand coast past Pattaya, Rayong, and Chanthaburi crossing into Cambodia near Pailin, and on to Battambang.  From Battambang you can take a boat by river and across the Lake to Siem Reap. A few of the cycling tour group on this trip had done this journey.

Cycling Tour: Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City - 825Kms; (Boat 240Kms; Route Cycling 330Kms ; Bus 255Kms), plus local Siem Reip/Phnom Penh cycling 207Kms
